At Soloda, we believe that education is the foundation for a healthier and more innovative society. Through this holistic approach, our graduates are equipped not only with professional skills but also with the values and mindset needed to make a real difference in their communities.

With campuses in Mekelle, Adwa, Shire, Semera, and Logia, Soloda Health and Technology College serves as a regional hub for excellence in Health Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Business. We are proud to host a diverse and vibrant community of over 5,000 students guided by a team of experienced and dedicated lecturers committed to student success.

Our Story

Soloda Health and Technology College was founded with a bold vision — to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills in the fields of health sciences, technology, and business. Established in response to Ethiopia’s growing need for skilled professionals and innovators, Soloda began its journey with a strong commitment to quality education, research, and community development.

From its humble beginnings, Soloda has expanded into a multi-campus institution with vibrant learning environments across Mekelle, Adwa, Shire, Semera, and Logia. Each campus plays a vital role in empowering young minds to contribute to national progress through education, innovation, and service.

2010 E.C. (2018 G.C.) — Foundation and Vision Launch Soloda Health and Technology College was established with the goal of delivering transformative education that blends theory with real-world practice.
2011 E.C. — First Campus Opening in Mekelle The Mekelle Campus began operations, offering programs in Engineering, Management, and Health Sciences.
2012–2014 E.C. — Expansion and Academic Diversification New campuses were launched in Adwa, Shire, and Semera to reach more students across the region. Programs in Public Health, Nursing, Computer Science, and Survey Technology were introduced to address labor market demands.
2015 E.C. — Introduction of Logia Campus (Pharmacy Program) The College expanded to the Afar region with the Logia Campus, providing specialized training in Pharmacy and contributing to healthcare capacity-building in underserved areas.
2016 E.C. — Strengthening Partnerships and Quality Assurance Soloda established academic collaborations and implemented a strong internal quality assurance system to align with national and international education standards.
2017 E.C. — Community Engagement and Research Initiatives The College launched its research and community service programs, encouraging staff and students to engage in innovative projects that solve real social and technological problems.
Present — A Leading Force in Health and Technology Education Today, Soloda Health and Technology College continues to grow as a recognized institution of excellence—preparing graduates who are capable, ethical, and ready to lead in Ethiopia’s development journey.
